Targets
- Know the basic characteristics of Modernism.
- Get to know the key characters in the creation of Casa Coll i Regàs.
- Compare modernist society (leisure, work, city life, education, etc.) and compare them with 21st century society.
- Identify some of the changes and continuities between the ideals of modernism and some of the values and realities of 21st century youth.
- Reflect on the options, links, opportunities and obstacles that young people face today with 21st century society.
- Defend an idea and work on oral expression.
Methodology
Visit + workshop through the spaces of the Casa Coll i Regàs, focusing on those essential aspects of modernist society that we find exemplified in this building.
After visiting the house, the students will carry out this activity where the debate is the core of the work. Based on a dialogue between teachers, students and educators, they will be invited to discuss some of the aspects that define young people in the 21st century and the shortcomings they find in their city. An x-ray will be made of the challenges they face today, to end up devising a set of concrete proposals for improvement made by themselves that they will have to defend in front of the rest of their classmates.
